GOLF BALLS
Impact Dynamics and Restitution Performance Analysis
Sports equipment manufacturers are constantly looking for accurate and non-destructive methods to enhance product performance.
VESevo technology enables the analysis of multi-layer golf balls by measuring the Coefficient of Restitution (COR) for each layer, a key parameter that reflects energy return during play.
Four different golf ball models were analyzed to evaluate the energy response of the materials each layer is made of.

- For each model, three same balls have been tested with VESevo device. For each ball, three zones have been characterized.
- Golf Titleist Pro V1 and Titleist Pro V1x seems to exhibit a more dissipative ability compared to the other two models.
Ball Titleist trufeel and Titleist velocity exhibit higher COR values compared to Titleist Pro V1 and Titleist Pro V1x.
This means that Titleist trufeel and Titleist velocity dissipate less impact energy and potentially reach greater distances when hit, as a larger portion of the energy transferred by the impact with the club is converted into kinetic energy rather than being dissipated as heat and/or deformation, unlike the other two models.
