From track to sail: VESevo technology on board with UNINA Sailing Team

VESevo Smart Technologies, an innovative spin-off company of the University of Naples Federico II, announces a collaboration with UNINA Sailing Team, a leading team competing in the 1001Vela Cup. The regatta brings together Europe’s top universities in a competition that sees students testing the performance of sailboats they have engineered, designed and built

The team, also from the University of Naples Federico II, is composed of more than 50 students who design and build sailboats using natural and recycled materials, applying new approaches to improve structural efficiency. The collaboration enables the use of VESevo technology to support material testing and the evaluation of components employed in the construction of the sailboat.

As attention on competitive sailing grows ahead of next year’s America’s Cup in Naples, the collaboration introduces VESevo technology into a field where technical analysis plays an increasingly central role. The same testing principles used in motorsport are now being extended to sailing, supporting data driven engineering decisions in an entirely new competitive environment.
