VESEVO AND TU BRNO RACING: TIRE ANALYSIS TO SUPPORT FORMULA STUDENT VEHICLE DEVELOPMENT

VESevo Smart Technologies, an innovative spin-off from the University of Naples Federico II, announces a collaboration with TU Brno Racing, the Formula Student team of Brno University of Technology. The partnership will support the development of the team’s electric racing car through VESevo’s non-destructive viscoelastic tire analysis, with a specific focus on tire wear and thermal cycling.

The collaboration focuses on expanding the team’s understanding of tire behavior and integrating additional data into vehicle modelling and development activities. Through repeated non-destructive analysis, TU Brno Racing will investigate changes in the viscoelastic properties of the tires over time, providing further information on tire degradation and performance evolution.

VESevo technology applied in Formula Student activities is also adopted in major motorsport categories including Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula E, NASCAR and MotoGP. The partnership gives students access to testing methodologies and data analysis tools connected to professional motorsport, creating a direct link between academic engineering activities ad racing applications.

Andrea Genovese, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VESevo:

“Formula Student represents an important opportunity for students to connect engineering studies with the development of a real racing car. The collaboration with TU Brno Racing aims to provide additional information on tire behavior, helping the team investigate wear and thermal cycling through non-destructive analysis. Supporting these activities also contributes to the development of technical skills that can later find application in professional motorsport and automotive engineering.”

Jakub Mahdal, Vehicle Modelling and Control of TU Brno Racing:

“VESevo will play a key role in advancing our understanding of tire behaviour, particularly in the areas of tire wear and thermal cycling. We are currently at the early stages of these studies, but as a team we believe that VESevo’s expertise will significantly support us in gaining a deeper insight into the behaviour of our tires. These studies will help us better understand tire degradation and temperature-dependent performance characteristics. Together, this cooperation will enable us to make more data-driven engineering decisions and further improve the performance of our Formula Student car.”
